Washington Park

The Washington Park library, located in a firehouse donated by the city for library purposes, closed in early 2006 after forty years of operation, due to structural damage. Computers are now located in an unused, un-air conditioned department store, but all the books are gone.

On October 3rd, Save Our Branches organized a read-in outside the closed branch where they asked patrons to bring their own books (since the library doesn't have any.)
